Election Recount Results
The election recount took place tonight and the results remain the same as before. Actually, based on the new count Don Campbell wins his council seat by two votes instead of a single vote. Looks like Topete and his buddies lose their $1000. They have 24 hours to protest these latest results but hopefully they have learned their lesson by now and they will start to behave like civilized people and stop harassing city employees.

I don't favor any sides I just felt like going in and see how the recounts take place. I just want to share a little of what I saw. I wasn't there for the whole thing but I showed up before the end of the count and from what I saw the person calling out the votes had sides on campbell, because I heard people questioning some of the ballots he was calling out. He had called one when I showed up as topete and campbell, somebody questioned it so he put it at the bottom of the pile and started a new tally since he had only called out like three I believe, when he got back to that one he called it out for socorro and campbell after he had already called it the other way around. People started complaining then he gave his excuse as he didn't want that card to cause the tie if it was being qestioned, to me he took sides which never should of happened, he was there to call out the votes as they showed or to the best of his knowledge, and from what I heard there were more of those ballots that were called like that, and after a little bit of arguing on both sides some were discarded after they came out with the rule book so there would be some agreement. But oh well the thing is over with and maybe we can make improvements now the right way now, just thought I'd share it with you guys.
My thing is , now that you guys won 3/4 of your election again. Can we get some real construction crews out here and finish the sherwood bridge project or do you guys consider it complete, case closed.I don't think you disagree with it, you got to be thinking the same or something. Do you even drive in that direction or is that side of town too low for you that you don't really care of the mess there. C'mon people let's get real here, if you look at half the cars that go up that bridge they already have some fornt end damage that they didn't have before that project. I know you guys want to make improvements but the crew killed that one and you lost points there. Hey, when is the next meeting so we can go out there and bring up some concerns to you guys. I'm pretty sure people have some concerns if they wanted to bring them forward. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that's complained about it but it gets frustrating when you get to that spot of town. I'm not all into this politic stuff but I want to get involved with the comunity projects to share with the public.
I was wondering if anybody can post a comment or if you are the only one. I have a concern I would like to add to your blog. I was in delano running some errons I meet a man who has his child in our elementary school. He then went on to tell me that he was senting his kid to delano junior high instead of here in mcfarland. He gave me two reasons one was the many changes our school board has gone threw and the way nobody lets them do their jobs and the negative atmosphere surrounding them. Two is because of the first reason he gave me the schools have suffered academicly and that was the main reason he brought his kid to mcfarland instead of delano. then he told me he was approached to recall the current board and that was the desiding factor to move his kid. I hope that your group is not trying to do this and if not who is? I feel we should leave the school board alone, but that is not to say let them do what they want we should be monitoring everything they do that they keep the children first. A recall would send this school district further behind and hinder all of children who attend. It will also bring more division to are city who we are trying to improve and get the negative atmosphere behind us once and for all.
I don't know who is initiating the recall attempt. But I don't agree with it. The school district has too many problems already and I doubt that a recall would help. I'm doing the same thing that this man is doing and sending my kids to schools outside of McFarland.
On this recall thing, I myself don't think that is the solution to our problems, afterall these guys have only been there less than six months and all the problems were already there. I believe these guys decided to run for the district to help fix the corruption that was there before. I keep hearing all the confused people in McFarland talking about how the new district members are already over the budget and all the corruption in there. We know that this was taking place before they got there with the other assistant superintendant and all her associates in the crime mix. People are cofused and bought out so they can vote for the recall and get the same rip offs back in there. I truly believe from what I know, these people are out to correct the district and send it in the right direction. We all know how the system was being run before where nobody had any say so over what was approved there. Sure these new people made a small mistake maybe by not hiring the superintendant that was in the list. But I bet you they learned from it and they will try to manage better decisions in the future. I don't see a problem with the people that are in now, I really believe they favor the kids and not the money. They will try eventually to keep the fundraising programs and all the other stuff that was being taken away by the other board members who only favored their benefits and not the sake of the children of McFarland. I wished somebody would of came forward before about what was going on in there so they could of made these changes a long time ago. Instead of paying that one person who is on administrative leave, they should fire her like she fired all the other people without any reason.She is the one to blame not the district.

So can anyone shed some light on the school recall? Who is running and who is being possibly recalled? Does this have to do with the Asst. Supers demotion?
