March 6th Election
Citizens of McFarland, they are at it again. The "9th street gang", that group of poor illiterate souls that tried to keep Rafael Melendez in office, are attempting to fill three of the council spots that are up for re-election on March 6th. They pooled all of their resources together, found a few people that could read, and these are the top notch candidates that they are putting up for the election.
Hilda Osorio, Mayor
27 year old who has lived in McFarland for 2 years. Has never been actively involved in any of the political boards in our city.
Humberto Topete Jr., Councilmember
20 year old student with no political experience. Come on now. A kid?
Samuel Cantu, Councilmember
Brother of Manuel Cantu who was just recalled a few months ago and from what I hear isn't any smarter than his brother. So be prepared for more costly decisions from this guy if he is elected. I do hear that he is good at verbally abusing children at sporting events.

Here is a rebuttal flyer that addresses the lies that they published and shows how confused and mislead these people are. They don't bother to do their homework and get all of the facts before making statements. I'm proud of the fact that our new council has been able to fix many of the mistakes made by the council that was recalled a few months ago.

I want to give you KUDOS for your comments on the three new canidates. This is the kind of thing that will improve and help our city.
I am a resident in mcfarland and was not really involved with the politics of the city until the recall election. I have received several flyers from both sides. I want to know what the Mcfarland Citizens for Responsible Government is and what is their stands, goals, mission and purposes.
Now, let's post information on the losers who do nothing for our city and whom you seem to protect for your own business interests. Or let us talk about the rapists that are in the jail that your wife, Julie supported in bringing to town. Why don't you mention the real issues man!
I bet anything going against what you say,, does not get published simply because you and your family are monopolistic idiots who only tell your one sided lies but continue to fill your pockets with the money of the city of McFarland. Therefore, you do what it takes to create websites full of lies so that people believe you.
I'm not one to get to involved in politics.I don't attend city meetings,but before I would ever run for ciy council I will make sure I have knowledge of what has been going on in Mcfarland.I don't mean the gossip news, I'm talking about having the knowledge of how a city is actully run. We can't let people who do not live in Mcfarland make decisions for the community.Let's get real here having knowledge of city government would be a plus if running for city council.A person can learn from just ATTENDING city meetings there's no need to go take classes on how to run a city. Getting info from someone who attends city meetings isn't the same as if you were there, something about the meeting will always be left out.
Responding to the post on 2/21 at 1:01pm. Get your facts straight. Julie has been on the city council for less than a year and she played no part in the decision to bring the correctional facility to McFarland. I think the "real issue" here is that people like you are easily mislead. People like you find it hard to believe that people can be successful without being dishonest. What a shame. You would be amazed at what hard work, dedication, and a good education can do.
