Compensation for Councilmembers
My wife received a couple of checks from the City of McFarland the other day. One is a $200 monthly payment for serving on the council. This used to be a $100 payment up until the Melendez administration came into office and decided to increase it. She also received another check for $100 for monthly reimbursement of cell phone expenses. This is another expense that we have the previous administration to thank for. Now I see why Melendez and his crew of liberal spenders fought to stay in office, I'm sure it was difficult for them to lose this source of income from the city.

well I asume we will now be adding at least an extra $300 to the McFarland City Budget since Julie will be giving the money back right? I mean you write like you are appalled by the compensation checks and therefore want no part of the money....is that how it is??
hey does any one read this anymore?Who is running for city counsel next year? I have heard some interesting rumors. I hope that is all it is.. rumors. On another issue...what are we going to do about the grafitti problem, the gang problem, the crime problem, etc. Do we need our own PD or should we contract more deputies? WHat about the lighting issue on some of our streets? It is dark and a haven for crime in these areas. Let's work together and come up with some solutions. I got kids here and I want McFarland to be like it was when I grew up here.
I'm still wondering why there's no response to the first comment here... does no response mean the assumption was wrong? I also can't belive Rafael has had not one thing to comment about since October!
