Cantu's Recall Sign

Here is a picture of one of the signs that have been put up by the group of misinformed individuals that support Melendez. The best argument that they can come up with is that they feel R&F is charging us too much for our garbage service, so that is why we should be paying $4.50/month for our recyclable garbage vs the $2.25/month that R&F offered. They probably don't realize that the recyclable material has resale value and standard garbage does not. I also guess they didn't get to read a copy of the Grand Jury letter who found that our contract with Sunset Waste was "detrimental" to the citizens of Mcfarland.

What's with the mexican flag? Last time I checked, the City of McFarland fell well within the borders of the United States. But maybe what they are trying to suggest is that the administration of Melendez, Cantu, and Santillano is just as corrupt as any of the political organizations in Mexico and they are willing to accept bribes.

I hope the 3 city council members that put up the signs , that suggest the people of Mcfarland vote no on the 15th realize that they lack respect for the American flag. Yes,the majority of the community are Mexicans but this is the United States. You would think that city council members would know that the American flag should of been put on the left side of their signs.Gentlemen think back to when you were in school the American flag was set up in the left side of the classroom. Is there a flag set up during city council meetings? And if so is it an American flag?

Mr. Rodarte, When someone negoitiates a contract they always make sure their costs will be covered and will include some measure of profit, Business 101. To assume R&F would offer such a low rate and rely on the redemption value of the amounts being recylced to cover both cost and profits, would be ridiculous. If so, they should fire their negotiator, since I see very little people using their blue cans. Some refuse to offer these earning to Sunset and recycle on their own. People on your blog have said they were going to return the cans back to the city and will never recycle. Some just do not know the importance of recycling, or will ever recyle at all. I would not jeopardinze the earnings of my company on such a risky return. Would you? If so, please explain your philosophy in respect to contract negotiations?

This country has been built by immigrants from many nations that have brought to us their culture customs and beliefs. Therefore, when both the American and Mexican flag are placed together it represents the joining of two cultures, two worlds and two belief systems working together for one cause. Just as churches raise their flag with the American flag in their santuaries. It has nothing to do with their governments, political parties and which one is on the left or the right. These flags represent the will and beliefs of the people. That is why many allying countries proudly raise the American flag next to their flag, and why opposing countries would rather burn our flag, my opinion.
