Viva Las Vegas!
Looks like the mayor and councilman Santillano took a nice, expensive trip to Las Vegas for 4 days! Check out the $300/night room that the mayor billed to the city. They stayed at the New York New York hotel and spent nearly $2000 just on the hotel rooms alone. But I'm sure it was money well spent for the good of our city and our people.

citizens of our city
are being raped. Myself &
alot of McFarland citizens
not only want all money paid back but with interest
just like any body else
would. Melendez should be
in jail period. He has done
nothing for our city but
take all paid vacations
on our city's money. This
so called mayor should do
one right thing,quit now
& save city money. Also
remember,Melendez stated
that he did no wrong &
he deserved these vacations
& he would have gotten away
with all of his wrong doings if he had'nt got
caught with his hands in
the cookie jar(city'budget
which no one has seen yet ?
I agree with the comment posted at 9:39pm,the mayor of Mcfarland should do the right thing by stepping down from his position.He said he used city money to pay for his wife's travel expenses,I wonder which city council members signed the checks that were used for these travel expenses.Why didn't the other council members get to go on these trips? Maybe they knew it would be the wrong thing to do.
I think it would be nice to see a large group of residents get together and attend the next council meeting to ask the mayor to resign. Right now the mayor claims to have full support of the community because most of the people that show up to his meetings are from his "8th St. Gang"
we should be worried about our childred. the mayor should be concerned about the gangs in our town an not going out of town. what we need is a police department. now that the town is getting bigger.
mr.mayor you took the office to help the community. not to take vacation. if you can't do the job step down.
I agree that he can do whatever he wants with his money. But the trip to Las Vegas was taken with the city's money. When he uses city money then in becomes our business as well.
