Criminal Records for School Board Candidates

We were doing some research into the background of some of the candidates that are running to replace the current school board members. All of the information posted here is taken from a Kern County website that lists criminal records and court hearing dates.

Emma Garnica apparently has quite an extensive history of charges against her. We were able to find 4 different items including charges for:
1. Driving under the influence of alcohol.
2. Two separate instances of possession of illegal drugs.
3. Driving without a license or registered vehicle.

This person thinks she knows what is best for our school district and our children? It looks like she is in need of some personal counseling. I believe that a record like this says a lot about the character of a person and I would say she is unfit to make decisions that may affect our students. I think that our community should hold our city leaders to a higher set of standards.

For Marin Ortega and David Arquello we found records showing that they have a hearing date on March 21st regarding the charges that they face for illegally collecting school board recall signatures.

why doesn't Garnica, Arguello, and Ortega do the "politically correct" thing and withdraw from the race? then, I am sure that Munoz and Rodriguez would decline from the election also. The first three are responsible for the recall and now they have been caught with their hand in the cookie jar, so to speak. why doesn't the delano record or the bakersfield californian exploit their wrongdoings. why doesn't someone call eyewitness 29 news? why aren't arguello's and ortega's place of employment notified? shouldn't a peace officer, co, whathever, have a clean slate, integrity, so forth? I pray that something happens between now and april 4th, election day! their signs for the election should read "time to continue putting criminals first" they are not in it for the kids, they are in it to please melendez and everyone knows he is behind this 101%. remember not to vote for a recall.

ok. criminals? wow. i agree. Emma Garnica should be nowhere near my children nor should she be making any decisions regarding them. but signing their names on election forms does not make someone a criminal. negligant, ignorant maybe but not ctiminal. please.

WHAT ABOUT "TIME TO PUT NEGLIGENT, IGNORANT ADULTS FIRST"?

LEARN TO SPELL.

mr. rodarate; perhaps you can answer the "learn to spell" entry. my entries always are changed to have subtle errors. one letter or two changed, everytime. i even had someone proof the last one, is this your way of making the rest of us seem dumber than you?? thank you very much.

This last post was funny. Just to inform everyone, I don't edit or modify any of the comments that are posted. The only options that I get when I review the comments are "Publish" and "Reject". If you look through my past posts I usually have several misspellings too.

But I think it is nice to see that people are putting a lot of effort into the comments that they write. To the person that wrote the last comment, if you are really concerned with errors in your posts, maybe you should consider finding someone else to check your writing.
